Scotch Whisky — A 7-Day Distillery Road Trip
Fly into Edinburgh, pick up a car and spend a week moving west through the places that explain Scotch by letting you see it being made. This route uses Campbeltown and Islay rather than trying to collect every whisky region in seven days. You get Springbank’s old industrial town, a ferry to Islay, farm-grown barley at Kilchoman and the south-coast distilleries around Laphroaig, Lagavulin and Ardbeg. The history is still here, but it sits inside a trip you could actually book. One deliberate map detour to Jerez shows where part of the cask story comes from without pretending Spain belongs in the seven-day drive.
