In December 1926, Agatha Christie became the subject of a nationwide search after her car was found abandoned in Surrey. Eleven days after she disappeared, she was found alive in a Harrogate hotel. This is a resolved disappearance, although explanations of those days remain debated.
On 17 July 2010, nineteen-year-old Iwona Wieczorek left a Sopot nightclub and walked towards Gdańsk. A final CCTV recording near a beach entrance became the fixed point in a long search. These two places follow documented evidence; they do not reconstruct what happened after she left the camera’s view.
A man using the name Dan Cooper boarded a flight in Portland on 24 November 1971, collected ransom in Seattle, then disappeared from the aircraft before it reached Reno. The airports are known; his identity, landing place and fate remain unresolved.

This trace follows the last confirmed departure point, the intended landing site, and a later search hypothesis so the disappearance can be read as a map of the record itself.
